How do I connect a custom domain?
Adding a domain, entering the DNS records and the verification steps.
4 minute read
You can use your own domain (e.g. go.yourcompany.com) in your short links.
1. Add the domain#
Add your domain on the Studio › Domains page. The panel shows the DNS records and the verification value specific to this domain.
2. Enter the DNS records#
Enter the records shown in the panel exactly as shown in the management panel of your DNS provider (Cloudflare, GoDaddy, etc.):
| Record | What does it do? |
|---|---|
TXT _beklio-verify | Verifies that the domain belongs to you. The value looks like beklio-verify=…. |
| CNAME (subdomain) | Connects the subdomain to the Beklio routing server. |
| A (root domain) | Connects the root domain to the Beklio server. |
If you use a subdomain, some providers ask for the record name relative to the zone. For example, for go.yourcompany.com the TXT name becomes _beklio-verify.go. Use the record name as shown in the panel.
3. Verify#
After adding the records, press the DNS Check button in the panel. DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to propagate, depending on your provider. When verification succeeds, the SSL certificate is provisioned automatically; no further action is needed.
